On October 20th, 2016, accompanied by his assistant, arrived in Fubine to visit Enosis!

The first thing that the Nobel Laureate in Chemistry pointed out was in the beautiful panorama from Enosis looking out over Monferrato, which is quite literally in love with.

He then visited the facilities and laboratories, and with a truly remarkable friendliness and simplicity, praised the modernity of this research centre, along with the cutting-edge technology used to reach Enosis’ research objectives and goals. In a few minutes he gave a definition of Enosis that put a smile on the face of the entire laboratory team: "I understand what you do here ...your taking the wine’s fingerprints!" They answered him, "Actually professor, we here at Enosis try to translate that which difficult and complicated into simple applications and approaches in order to produce wines of great quality, thanks to the applied research that we have been carrying out for years.

Lanati and Lindahl then spoke about the important role that chemistry holds for the future of the environment and its wellbeing, as well as the role of research in the field of wine and also of the benefit that this work can offer for mankind. They then talked about the main focuses and goals in research in oenology and how much of today’s attention is rightly concentrated on global climate change and desertification that lie ahead for the Mediterranean region, along with just how much the vine knows how to react and adapt to warmer and sunnier climates.

Dr. Lanati also explained to Professor Lindahl what he intends by the term “high-quality wine”: these wines are a product in which you can recognize a very specific territory, these are wines that draw you in thanks to a harmonious mix of emotions that are truly unforgettable.

The professor truly enjoyed this definition and left for London with the wines he received as a gift – wines that will hopefully help him relive the emotions of his time spent in Monferrato.
